Not quite as hot yesterday in Murphy’s Law and not quite as many teams as usual. Some of the regulars are spending their summer holidays in other regions or other countries or on the other side of the globe…
One of them, James Farrell, had sent us greetings from Sydney and a super duper beer question: ‚How many Australian residents identified themselves as having Irish ancestry at the 2021 Australian census?‘
I had honestly tried to make the questions a bit easier this time and in the first half of the quiz it seemed to work… Drunken Quizzers took the lead with 6 points in Geography (of course 😊) and 5 points in Film&TV. In the next two rounds, Science&Nature and Music, it was 101s and Promotion Square’s turn to score 11 points. 👏👏👏
At half-time 5 teams (!) were in joint first position: Adequate Tools, Drunken Quizzers, 101s, Kackspechte and Promotion Square.
And then the average score dropped drastically, with a couple of zero rounds in Art&Literature, History and especially in my special round ‚Sports and Games Time Travel‘ 🙈. The lego question was alright, but not many were familiar with or had heard of the ancient Greek stadion run or the American sport octopus wrestling…
The two teams that mastered those last 4 rounds best were the two teams that also came first and second in last week’s quiz: Kackspechte (with an almost completely different team than the one that won last week!) and Emmy. Congratulations to both teams! 🤩🤩🤩
Neither Mark nor Bernd knew the answer to the music question, so there is bit of money left in the jackpot for next week’s quiz, the last one before the summer break, which will be hosted by bab and Tessie! 😍
Top 5:
1 – Kackspechte: 35/48
2 – Emmy: 34/48
3 – 101s/Drunken Quizzers: 32/48
5 – Adequate Tools/Promotion Square: 29/48
